Causes of Hemorrhoids (Piles)
Hemorrhoids, also known as piles, can arise due to genetic predisposition, where the condition may be inherited from parents. If your parents experienced hemorrhoids, there’s a likelihood that you may also develop them in the future or may already have them.
Furthermore, factors such as persistent obesity, constipation, frequent heavy lifting, or continual strain on the body can increase the risk of developing hemorrhoids.
Prolonged periods of sitting without adequate breaks can also contribute to the development of hemorrhoids. Additionally, engaging in experiencing frequent bouts of diarrhea are common factors that elevate the risk of hemorrhoid formation.
Pregnancy can also predispose individuals to hemorrhoids. The enlargement of the uterus during pregnancy exerts pressure on a vein in the colon, leading to the formation of bulges characteristic of hemorrhoids.
